Dr Run Shi is a Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Urban Planning and Design, The University of Hong Kong. Her research is mainly focused on the interactions and correlations between urban spatial structure and intracity mobility. A variety of quantitive and qualitative methods are used in her research, including big data processing, geospatial analysis and statistical analysis. In addition, experienced in smart city projects, especially Internet-Of-Things (IoT) applications for indoor localization, she has a joint patent of Smart Address Plate, which has been applied in various scenarios to improve the experience of indoor location confirmation.
She holds a BSc from Wuhan University in China, a MSc from the University of Stuttgart in Germany, and a PhD from the University of Hong Kong.
