Dr. Koh is a Lecturer in the Department of Real Estate and Construction, the University of Hong Kong. Prior to entering academia, Tas had worked in construction industry in Singapore. Tas had worked through various positions ranging from supervisor to Project Manager and Quality Systems Manager. He is experienced in managing residential and industrial projects in the functions ranging from quality, environmental, and safety management, as well as contracts management. With the experience in these functions, Tas has been able to include construction project management, contract administration, safety management, facility management, and elementary building services in his teaching portfolio.
From 2003, Tas has been active in construction management research, first in Singapore, and then in Hong Kong. Tas research interests include relational aspects of managing construction projects and project safety, and has been involved in research projects in these areas. Tas is currently growing his research platform on ageing workforce in construction industry.
Tas is also active in industry engagement. He is a member of the Hong Kong Construction Safety Benchmarking Group (CSBG) and is currently a Vice Chairman of the Institute of Safety and Health Practitioners (ISHP). Through these organisations, Tas has contributed to knowledge exchange by acting as a bridge between academia and industry through various industry-related activities.
