Project summary:

Architectural Preservation Studio, PC, the sub-consultant of AGC Design Ltd. invited the Architectural Conservation Laboratory to assist with the microscopic investigation of 6 samples collected from the Central Market building in Central Hong Kong, a three storey wet market building with open courtyard built in 1938. The Objectives for this paint analysis are to document the paint finish stratigraphy and aid in decision making for the restoration of the façade finishes.

The samples were processed in the Architectural Conservation Laboratory to produce cross sections for microscopic investigations. A report to summarize the findings was prepared and submitted to the client on Friday 12th February 2016.
