Standard Forms for Research Postgraduate (RPg) Students

Timeline listed below are for the applications reaching the Faculty Office via the respective Departments. Should late submission is inevitable, justification with legitimate reasons explaining the late submission is required.

Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) Awardees

Approval from the RGC is required for the following items of application for HKPFS awardees during the three-year fellowship period. These applications (using the standard forms listed in the table below) should be submitted to the Faculty Office via your Department with detailed justification at least 1 month before the effective date:

  1. Study leave: for staying outside Hong Kong for academic/research activity for (1) a period exceeding 90 consecutive days or (2) exceeding an aggregate of 183 days;
  2. Non-study leave: (1) exceeding 30 consecutive days or (2) exceeding an aggregate of 30 days in an academic year (unused non-study leave may be carried forward to the following years);
  3. Deferral of registration date;
  4. Part-time paid employment;
  5. Change of Department;
  6. Change of Primary Supervisor and/or Co-supervisor;
  7. Change of fellowship period/end date; and
  8. Concurrent registration at another tertiary institution.

During the 4th year of study (applicable to 4-year PhD student), please follow the submission deadlines listed in the table above.
