REC Awards, Honors and Achievements
Dr Kelvin Wong, Assistant Professor, has been appointed to serve on the editorial board of the following two international peer reviewed real estate journals:

Dr Kelvin Wong, Assistant Professor, has been selected Post-doctoral Honoree of the Weimer School of Advanced Studies in Real Estate and Land Economics. The School normally selects three academic colleagues as Post-doctoral Honorees each year. Past honorees include Professors Edward Glaeser (Harvard), William Goetzmann (Yale), Christopher Mayer (Columbia), Steve Grenadier (Stanford), Joseph Gyourko (Pennsylvania), David Geltner (MIT), John Corgel (Cornell), Nancy Wallace (UC Berkeley), etc. As this year’s Honoree, Dr Wong has been invited to present a research project to the School in Florida this May. Dr Cyrus Y Y Mok (2010 PhD graduate of the Department of Real Estate and Construction) was awarded a fellowship by the Ronald Coase Institute to attend and present paper at the Workshop on Institutional Analysis held in December 12-18, 2010, Shanghai, China. Dr Mok is the 5th awardees of the fellowship from the Department of Real Estate and Construction since 2006. Past awardees include Dr Lennon H T Choy, Dr Rita Y M Li, Dr Valerius K W Chun and Mr Rui Chen.
One of our PhD students, Ms Miranda Chiu, was awarded the following award in a recent conference in Australia Pacific Rim Real Estate Society Scholarship (PhD Colloquium) (value of the Award: A$1,500) for presenting the paper entitled “Effects of Land Auctions on Private Housing Market – An Empirical Study in Hong Kong” presented at the 17th Pacific Rim Real Estate Society Conference, 16-19 January 2011, Gold Coast, Australia.
The conference is rated grade “A” (highest ranking) on the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) conference ranking list.
