UGC TARGETED TAUGHT POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES FELLOWSHIPS SCHEME

Background

The main objectives of the Targeted Taught Postgraduate Programmes Fellowships Scheme are to attract more meritorious local students to pursue further studies in priority areas conducive to the development of Hong Kong, and to encourage universities to establish more innovative and multi-disciplinary programmes that are beneficial to society. For details, please refer to https://www.ugc.edu.hk/eng/ugc/activity/targeted_postgraduate_scheme.html

MSc(Urban Analytics) is selected by the University Grants Council for the 2021/22 scheme as the programme is considered to be in the priority area of Sustainable City which is of strategic importance to Hong Kong. Six fellowships are allocated to the programme. Students offered the fellowships will each receive an award of HK$120,000 to help offset the programme fee, and will only need to pay the remaining fee of HK$64,000.

Eligibility*

  • Local* applicants who are admitted to MSc (Urban Analytics) (full/part-time mode).
  • To avoid double subsidy, students awarded with other government scholarships including the Continuing Education Fund (except student financial assistance) for pursuing the MUA are not eligible to apply.

*Non-local students holding (a) student visa/entry permit; (b) visa/entry permit under the Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates; or (c) dependent visa/entry permit who were 18 years old or above when they were issued with such visa/entry permit by the Director of Immigration are NOT eligible for the fellowship.

Important Notes

  • Fellowship holders who are unable to complete the programme or fail to attain an expected level of performance shall be required to refund the full amount of the fellowship award received.
