Jessica Kong (MArch ’18) won 1st Prize in the 57th Central Glass International Architectural Design Competition

Congratulations to Jessica Kong (MArch ’18), whose team proposal and competition entry wins First Prize in the 57th Central Glass International Architectural Design Competition (セントラル硝子国際建築設計競技) and was featured in the January 2023 issue of SHINKENCHIKU (新建築).

The proposal, Kintsugi of the Flawed City, iterates on the possibility of establishing a new system between cities and rural communities as a strategy to repair the flaws of the cities.

Competition jury includes Kengo Kuma [Kengo Kuma & Associates], Tadao Kamei [Nikken Sekkei Ltd.], Jun Aoki [AS], Goichi Kamochi [Obayashi Corporation], Yoshiharu Tsukamoto [Atelier Bow-Wow], Junya Ishigami [Junya Ishigami+Associates].
