Course Title: Landscape Design Studio III
Teacher: Dorothy Tang
In this studio, students explored the medium of landscape through basic elements of space-making and human experiences. This is accomplished through detailed investigations of bodily experience, studies of existing public landscapes, and a deep understanding of landscape systems. The final project site is in North Point and encourages students to utilize contextual forces, whether climatic, natural, or artificial, in their design interventions. Students designed dynamic landscapes that responded to wind, tidal fluctuation, rain, ecological habitat, agricultural cycles, and economic activity, resulting in multifunctional public spaces that connect the neighborhood of North Point and its waterfront in a meaningful way.
