Our 40th Anniversary Event Series is launched in celebration of the establishment of the Centre of Urban Studies and Urban Planning (CUSUP) in 1980 and its subsequent development to become the Department of Urban Planning and Design (DUPAD) at the University of Hong Kong.

An Alumni Sharing Session will be held virtually via Zoom on 8 September 2021 (Wednesday), 13:30-14:30 (GMT+8).

Abstract:

In this presentation, Jeffrey will be sharing his planning experiences in three different local planning authorities in England. He will also discuss the local context and challenges in planning in these areas, including Canterbury City, Surrey County and West Berkshire. He will also share his volunteering experiences in planning and will discuss the opportunities and challenges in working as a planning officer in England.

About the Speaker:

Mr. NG Tsz Lok Jeffery
(Former Planning Officer, West Berkshire Council, UK)

Jeffrey Ng has a wide range of local and international planning experiences. Previously, Jeffrey was Planning Officer at West Berkshire Council, Canterbury City Council and Surrey County Council. He also worked for Planning Department and Housing Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. Jeffrey is Honorary Treasurer of the RTPI South East Regional Management Board and the RTPI International Committee Member. He is the Finalist of the Employee of the Year 2018 of Surrey County Council, the Winner of RTPI South East Young Planner of the Year 2018, the Finalist of the RTPI Young Planner of the Years 2020 and 2021.
