The lecture is to share the research on how the administrative rank in China influences the regional land use pattern. The concept of administrative spatial spillover effect is proposed and quantitatively analyzed. The driving mechanisms of regional urban land expansion and intensive land use pattern are explored in the context of administrative restructuring in China to enlighten the complex relationship between land use and administrative hierarchy.
About the Speaker:
Dr. Chen Zeng is an Associate Professor in the Department of Land Management, Huazhong Agricultural University and a joint postdoc in the University of Chicago, the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, US and Chinese Academy of Sciences. She got her Bachelor degree and doctoral degree in Wuhan University, and enrolled in the joint-PhD program in the University of Cambridge, UK.
