Iteration — the repetition of a process to produce an outcome — figures prominently in acts of architectural production. Iteration, as Ashley Schafer has argued, is distinctive from revision; if the latter is the editing of the same output, the former aims for a different output altogether, albeit through the same method. This session examines the ways in which iteration shapes an architectural idea over time, and through space, and in relation to particular methods.
