Tai Kong Po Village, located in the Northern part of Kam Tin, has the highest number of organic farms in Hong Kong nowadays. While being able to sustain the agricultural production, the village itself also faces multiple challenges including waste management, environmental pollution, provision of public spaces and community facilities, as well as developing strategies of adaptive reuse for abandoned public facilities.
For upgrading the community facilities and sustaining and the agricultural activities, we invite students from BAAS, MArch program, as well as students from other programs in the Faculty of Architecture, to participate in the design and construction of public facilities for the villagers of Ta Kong Po, help revitalizing village community through reconstruction of public spaces.

Lectures, sharing and film sessions related to community projects and agricultural movement in Hong Kong will be organized during the evenings.

Expenses
Simple lunch will be provided by local farm; daily transportation will be of your own cost.
Accommodation
Students are encouraged but not required to stay overnight in the farm of Tai Kong Po Village for experiencing rural daily-life and understanding the village context. (Accommodation fee $50 per night)
