Architecture is always more than just a building
Sara Klomps
Zaha Hadid Architects

Lecture abstract

Architecture is ultimately more than just the built environment. It is also a response to an often seamless, fluid set of conditions responding in a specific location and context. As such, architecture has to evolve continuously and adapt to the unwavering complexities woven within the structure of buildings that respond to the changing environments – even often during the actual design process.

Sara has been with Zaha Hadid Architects for 24 years. She has held key roles on several major ZHA cultural projects throughout Europe and internationally, as well as various civic and infrastructure schemes. Sara is particularly interest in construction methodology and concrete design, and she lectures on these subjects regularly for architecture schools and industry events. She is registers as an architect in both the UK and Germany.

Sara relocated to Hong Kong in 2017 to lead the prestigious Murray Road Grade A office development in the heart of Hong Kong.
Currently Sara is involved in a number of new projects in Hong Kong and is playing a key role in the established office there.
